Penn State Altoona student-athlete Hunter McMullen, of Colver, was announced as the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference’s Men’s Swimmer of the Week on Monday, Jan. 27. McMullen helped to lead the Lions to a 3-0 week that consisted of wins over nonconference opponents Lebanon Valley College, Juniata College and Elizabethtown College.
Selected to the Penn State Altoona Athletics Hall of Fame were Frank "Junie" Moore (men's basketball, 1947–1949), Reese Piper (men's basketball, 1971–1972), the 2000–2001 and 2001–2002 women's basketball teams, Tony Petulla (baseball, 2005–2008), Jimmy Baum (baseball, 2009–2012) and Cord Heine (baseball, 2009–2012). Moore enters the Hall of Fame as a Distinguished Achievement Inductee. The induction ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, May 3, in the Adler Athletic Complex.
Penn State Altoona junior forward Avana Sayles, of Venetia, was chosen as the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference’s Player of the Week in women’s basketball on Monday, Dec. 16.
All teams that compete for an AMCC championship select one member from each of their rosters who displays good sportsmanship throughout the season to be included on the All-Sportsmanship team. These individuals are selected by a vote of their teammates.

A total of five Penn State Altoona soccer student-athletes were recognized by the College Sports Communicators for their academics, when the CSC announced its 2024 NCAA Division III Academic All-District teams on Tuesday, Nov. 19.
Penn State Altoona goalkeeper Sasha Mohoruk, of State College, and defender Owen Myers, of Spring Grove, were both voted to the All-Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference team in men’s soccer, the league office announced on Tuesday, Nov. 12.
Penn State Altoona student-athlete Eugene Heyman, of Boiling Springs, was selected as the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference’s Men’s Swimmer of the Week on Monday, Nov. 11, when the league office announced its weekly awards. Heyman had two individual first-place finishes and also was part of a relay first place in the Lions’ sweep of conference opponents Alfred State College and Pitt-Bradford.
Six members of the Penn State Altoona men’s golf program were voted to the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference’s All-Conference team, the league office announced on Oct. 25.
